Detour PROPosition classes combine creativity with challenge and accessibility, showcasing how props can be used in unconventional ways to bring new life to your practice. Whether we’re using blocks, blankets, broomsticks or chairs, these classes will have you seeing your relationship with props through a whole new light where intuition and exploration lead the way.

  • Loaded Vinyasa

    Using a light kettlebell/dumbbell, we'll work on adding some shoulder and core stability to our vinyasa. Expect most of the elements of your typical vinyasa class, with some added spice!

  • Broomstick Express

    Use a dowel, broomstick or mop handle to support a practice that touches on the hip flexors, side body and shoulders. We'll stretch, mobilize, and bring attention to those sticky spots so that you can walk away feeling like yourself again.

  • Pull Your Vinyasa Into Shape

    Using a resistance band we'll add some much needed pulling into our yoga practice.

  • Wall Salutations

    Clear some wall space and get ready to explore some more closed chain variations of the postures which make up a sun salutation

  • Take a Seat

    In classic "PROPosition" style, this class is built entirely around the use of a chair. We'll use it as a tool for strength and mobility, while also leaning into it for support in moments when the body desires a little extra TLC.

  • Serving Up Tea

    Grab a yoga block and prepare for a treat for both your body and your brain. We'll focus on intentionally mobilising our shoulders using movements that will challenge our mobility as well as our proprioceptive sense.

  • Strength & Conditioning Supersets

    Grab your heaviest weights, a resistance band and a chair/ottoman. This session is all about pairing slow heavy resistance with a lighter more explosive exercise to challenge your power and muscle endurance.   • Loaded Strength Circuit 2.0

    Begin with a dynamic warmup, build your strength with 3 sets of 3 strengthening exercises and then finish up with some soothing stretches and familiar yoga poses. Props recommended : stretchy band,1 light &1 med/heavy weight, yoga block or sandbag.

  • Wall to Floor Feedback

    Instead of using moveable props you’ll make use of surfaces to get feedback. Find a wall and floor space that allows you to spread out. Enjoy exploring movement with feedback from the wall and floor separately and then together.

  • Asymmetry Central

    Get ready to feel a little frustrated with me with this one ;) Have a block at the ready, as we're going to be using it to both decrease stability and symmetry throughout this class.

  • Have Blanket Will Travel

  • Attached at the Brick

    A quick burst of challenge, strength, coordination and fun where we explore a playful practice focusing on two bricks. Part of us stays in contact with two bricks at all times. Exploring new and familiar poses in a unique way.

  • Work Day Stretch

    In this practice we’ll start out with a few seated stretches for your upper half before standing up to shake out your lower half.   • Bolster Detoured

    In this spontaneous class we explore using the bolster as a prop to add some load and challenges. Be mindful of the shape of your bolster as this may make some things more challenging. You can substitute the bolster for a rolled mat and blanket.

    There are endless options available when it comes to building a movement practice at the walll. This full-body exploration targets strength and mobility while also challenging you with inversions, backbends and everything in between.

  • Rolling, Rocking and Serving Tea

    In this class we'll explore a variety of poses and base positions with the added load, feedback and complexity of a block. So have a pair of blocks on hand and we’ll activate our core and mobilize our hips and upper body. This practice is a fun mental challenge.

  • Movement Break

    All you need for this short practice is a stable surface for your chair. In this class we will explore fluid dynamic movement for your spine and hips, as well as a little lower body strength and stability work. This class will leave you feeling energized and refreshed.
